FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW CAN I JOIN?

Email us at bart.players@gmail.com or just come along on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm (excluding July and August). We would love to meet you!

WHERE DO YOU MEET?

We meet every Wednesday at Eynsham Village Hall in Back Lane. See the bottom of the page for a map. Because of the Covid-19 situation we are not meeting at present but we will resume our meetings and rehearsals once it is safe to do so. We are having occasional on-line social evenings so if you would like to join us for our next Zoom get-together just drop us an email.

HOW MANY PLAYS DO YOU PERFORM EACH YEAR?

We put on two productions a year - in May and November - and occasionally enter drama festivals too.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN?

Membership fees are a modest £20 a year (less for concessions). For that you get camaraderie with a bunch of fun-loving like-minded people, outings to the theatre, dinners out and going to the pub, as well as the chance to do something creative that you can be proud of.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE?

If you've never experienced the buzz of pulling off a dazzling performance and getting acclaim from an appreciative audience, we can give you that opportunity. We like to involve new members as soon as we can, even if that means only a small part at first.

ARE YOU JUST LOOKING FOR ACTORS?

Not at all! Of course we do welcome anyone interested in acting, but if you would rather work behind the scenes, there are plenty of roles for you to make your mark, including set-building and decorating, sound and lighting, props, costumes, make-up, prompt, publicity, front-of-house, refreshments as well as producer, stage manager and director.

WHEN IS YOUR NEXT PRODUCTION?

Our next production is "Table Manners" by Alan Ayckbourn . In this play, Annie has arranged to spend an illicit weekend with her sister Ruth's husband Norman, and for this reason, suitably disguised, has asked her elder brother Reg and his wife Sarah to look after their widowed mother and the house. As it happens the seduction, thought or planned, by each of the six characters never takes place either. We get excellent reviews for our shows (and our productions of both "Dangerouse Corner" and "Abigail's Party" have even won awards) so do come along and join our team to help make our next production another success!

WHAT ABOUT COVID-19?

Due to the present situation regarding the rules for social distancing we are not holing our usual meetings – but once we are able to do so we will begin meeting up and rehearsing again. We are having occasional online social evenings so if you would like to join us for our next Zoom get-together just drop us an email.
